My hubby is out of his contract with O2, service has not been good especially on 3G. He has a samsung galaxy S & is happy to keep this so a sim only deal will suit him well.
He uses approx. 300 - 400 minutes per month & probably a similar amoubt of texts, he will use little or no data so 0.5mb data will suffice as we use the wifi at home mostly.
He also needs to be able to make a few calls & txts while in the ROI which is 2-3 days per week.
Can someone tell me what is the best sim only deal for a package like this with good coverage in Newry.

If the 3 network is any good for coverage in your area then you could look at their sim only plans. The two sim only plans I found to be really nice and easy on your finances are the All You Can Eat plans
Plan 1
200 mins, 5000 texts, All you can eat data truly unlimited, 1 month rolling contract for £12.90
For £3.90 extra (if my maths is correct)
Plan 2
600 mins, 5000 texts All you can eat data. for £15.90 however this is a 12 month contract not 1 month rolling.
Let me know what you think.0 -
vodafone has a sim only deal

Vodafone also do an 'Ireland Plus' plan for NI customers which, for £10/month, lets you roam in RoI using your UK call/text/data allowance. It can be switched on and off, but I think only by visiting a Vodafone store, allowing you to be charged pro rata for usage.
