    With about £2,000 a month to live on, unless rates go to 15%+ probably not a lot..............

    along with utilities , luxuries etc.....50 % of income for the next xx amount of years is a hell of a commitment

    But on an income of ~ £4k pm, it still remains affordable, I am sure a lot of the posters on here live on less than £2k pm in total which is what the OP will have after paying the mortgage.
