Hello again and huge thanks to every one out there who is trying to help.
The good news is first payment from DMP goes out on 25/05/07 so will start to make a small dent in debt.
Last time I posted I forgot to add that interest has been stopped on all my debts, so that is a small blessing.
Bad news is bl***y Link Financial have sent letter today saying they are going to start legal proceedings:eek: I am very scared as you know I feel at this point in time I cannot tell OH I know this is something I should do if I could. I need to gather corouge I suppose and just go for it, but I can,t do that with my 11yr old son around he needs to be shielded from the terrible arguments and temper that will ensue.
Anyhow that is my problem to get over.
Has anyone else had dealings with Link financial, and if so how did they deal with them?
Please keep posting it does help very much so and thanks again.

Hi Lonelytoo, glad to hear things are slowly sorting themselves out. Who are you doing your DMP through? Could you try contacting them to ask for advice about Link Financial, to see if they can suggest what to do?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I wish I knew what to suggest with regard to your OH, it must be really difficult for you, especially having a child around too. I can't help feeling that you shouldn't have to go through all this on your own (surely you didn't spend it all yourself), but I understand you not wanting your son dragged into it too."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Well done so far!! See what you can do when you focus (that goes for all of us on here!) There are a lot of people on the forum that have struggled with telling OH's, and there is bound to be support and advice out there. Perhaps a seperate thread would bring some encouraging replies? ***HUGS***0

Have you been paying link financial anything at all on a monthly basis? Have you told the DMP people about the court action.. Not sure what else you can do really. Glad you are getting sorted though, was a bit worried about you.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Well done for getting the DMP set up. It will start to make a small dent into the total debt but soon you will find little targets are met. I started at £33K approx and you set your self to get down a £1000, then to be below £30K, now I am aiming for £25K.
No dealings with Link Financial but did get threatened court action by a few of my creditors, Payplan dealth with it and nothing came from it.
Good Luck.Total Debt now £22,525.07 Start Debt £32,732.36

Hi there, yes I have been paying link ridgedly every month and DMP (CCCS) will continue to pay them considerably more on my DMP, but they keep on saying they are going to take legal action.
V. worried.
Thanks for taking the time to post,

It seems to be the case, that when you go onto a DMP, that companies send out alot of threatening letters to try and bully you into paying more. The best advice is to pass the letters onto your DMP company to deal with

Stay strong - you are now in control and those feelings will get stronger as the next few weeks go by - once your payments start you should feel a big weight lifting!
As for those that give you hassle, simply refer them to CCCS and make no further comment. Ask them to deal only in writing and if necessary quote the necessary harrassment legislation to them (not sure what it is but someone can provide it here I am sure) - they are just trying it on in the hope you will crack, but you won't - you are stronger than that now.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
