I have to say i stopped watching that programme a long time ago. It was fair comment about the amount people were spending on food, often far more than they even realised.
However i really lost interest with all the penny pinching tips i.e. uses for spare buttons etc when there were other issues which i thought could/should have been covered giving people really much more important and helpful advice. Thankfully Martin's show seems to have stepped into that obvious gap. i.e. PPI reclaiming, balance transfers, changing utility supplier.

I have to agree. Having watched most of them, there is precious little information about actual practical money saving rather than simplistic 'OMG, how much' type scenarios. Its all very well re-purposing a button, or making your own lemon chello from left over lemons, but I was rather hoping for more than just a few nuggets of useful information.
The problem I think is that they have to dumb it down enough to appeal to 'most ordinary' people while still appealing to the likes of those who frequent these forums. It is a difficult balancing act I should imagine.
The truth is, that other than the shock/snigger factor, there isnt really much substance to the program these days and your time might be better spent actuall reasearching an area of interest on the internet. You're bound to get far more useful information that way.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

I know SuperScrimpers is coming back soon, though I'm not sure which format show will appear first. Of course there is the version we've seen previously but there is also to be a new one, a daytime show with mini-challenges... seems to me, from what I heard they were planning, that it's definitely focussing more on the lighthearted 'do XYZ for £50' and 'how to use your spare buttons' stuff.
I miss the first season, the proper SUPERscrimpers. On the up
