Can I wash blinds??

My blinds in the bedroom (rented house) have suffered from the damp this winter and have attracted a bit of mould on the reverse of a couple of them. I am loath to us my usual bleach spray because they are blue fabric and i'm worried they will fade. Can I was them in the sink with stardrops or a disinfectant? They unclip at the top.

Are they verticals? I did mine when I moved in here as they were covered with cigarette smoke/whatever. Easy to unclip and wash in the bath with hand washing powder and lukewarm water. I hung mine out on the line to dry, didn't take long and they came up a completely different colour!Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0

If its black mould, mine didnt come off just by washing, i put a bit of baby bottle sterilizer in a bath of water and left them for a while and it jsut dissapeared. although mine are cream, but i only did the bottom and it dint seem to change the colour any.It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I have washed mine with success in the machine, I take all the strings etc off (or they snap) litte things out of the tops, put them in a tied pillow case and in the washer on a 30 delicate wash
However a friend tried it and hers shrank about an inch, could have been temperature of course as she likes washing things warmer. 60 for everything and wonders why her clothes shrink!
Always do these things at own risk but I have done mine several times. I hang them when damp aswell, saves trying to iron them.
I use Eucalyptus oil on mould and mildew, works wonders for me, could put some in washer with them. One day I might be more organised...........
