Scam 'Second Chance Offer'

Options
Just received a 'second chance offer' for an item I bid on at the weekend which is clearly a scam.

Puzzled as to how they got my Ebay ID & email address?

I know this was a scam back in the days when you could see all the bidder's IDs, but not anymore.

Here's the dodgy payment instructions from the email;

    So you bid on an item and did not win the item, so received a second chance offer.

    Hows this a scam?

    second chance offers is a standard feature of ebay.

    UKASH is a scam and paying outside of ebay is a breach of ebays rules so report the item and seller

    They don't tend to send you to corner shops and ask you to pay outside Ebay

    No - it's definietly a scam. I've been in touch with the seller to confirm since I started this thread.

    Still puzzled as to how they got my Ebay ID & email - very worrying!

    I sincerely hope I have misread your post and you don't really think that is what a second chance offer looks like :eek:

    most likly genuine second chance which would just mean them hitting a second change option next to item, they just added the UKASH information

    No no, it is not real.

    In case you were unaware eBay do not offer an escrow service via ukcash, read it again.

    i think its time i went to lie down in a dark room :(
  • This is 100% scam!!! I have recently SOLD 2 items on ebay, both auctions ended on Sunday 20th January. 1 winning bidder paid immediately the other paid yesterday. On Tuesday winning bidder from first auction contacted me regarding second chance offer I`d apparently sent them - which I hadn`t. Wednesday an underbidder sent email regarding second chance offer they`d received for the item. In both emails(they were both forwarded to me) they originated from 2 email addresses, first address starts UKash-orders second starts Maradona1975uk, neither of these belong to me. Both of identical information which OP states ie:pay at corner shop, send me voucher number etc. What is more unnerving and worrying is the fact that whoever these scammers are has got to the bidders private information as in both cases THEIR names and addresses were in full on each of the emails, as a private seller on ebay I have never been given this information right up until the order details are passed on. This is not a joke, I contacted ebay who, didn`t want to know because it should be the person who received the email originally who should contact them - disgusting. These scammers have got private details from ebay users. I gave ebay the email addresses in full where these scam emails originated from they should have been acting on it immediately. I won`t be selling on ebay again anytime soon, I`m not going to put mine or anyone elses private information at risk.
