Best way to finance £30k

Bit of background - my parents are returning to UK after 4 yrs abroad. They own their house - mortgage free. They want to buy 2 cars and a caravan when they return. They estimate this will cost around £30k. They have savings to cover this, but don't want to use these. My dad will get a company car allowance, so they would rather finance these, then put the car allowance towards the payments. Also, Dad will be in higher rate tax bracket, Mum is not working.
Now the decision... do they take out a personal loan to cover the amount, or should they mortgage the house with an offset mortgage using their savings to ensure they don't pay interest.
Any other ideas welcomed.

Why on worth would they want to take out finance and pay thousands of pounds in interest, when they already have the money?

I have tried to explain this one, but my mum is of the mind that this would leave them with no savings - money that they have saved hard for while working abroad. Hopefully I can show them these responses and they'll realise it's not just me that thinks that way!
