What to buy OH for wedding day gift?
Comments

I bought my DH a watch that I had engraved with our wedding date. Together with a little wedding day survival kit of socks, cigar and other little bits. I also wrote to his fav football manager & player and they kindly sent signed letters congratulating us on our day.
Ooooh I like this idea! Did you just address the letters to the manager at the club? And how long did it take?
My OH isn't really sentimental either so I was a bit stuck. He has a watch but doesn't wear it often and doesn't wear any other jewellery. So I've ended up ordering a pair of personalised Converse in black with a purple stripe (our wedding colour) and with our wedding date embroidered on them. Hopefully they're going to arrive today
He has cufflinks already but only the one pair, plain silver with his initials, that I bought him for Valentines early on in our relationship so I'm considering buying him cufflinks either Vegas themed or made of purple recycled circuit boards (he is a bit geeky :P )
I might give writing to the footie club a go, even if I don't get a response by the wedding date, it could still arrive before the reception!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
This is brilliant...!!!
Thanks! I was so embarassed emailing the register office but they called me within five minutes to say that they thought it was a great idea and are even giving the actor somewhere to get changed. I even asked if they would play the proper death star music and they agreed :rotfl:
The idea is my brother will act as though he has left the rings in the car outside and walk out to get them, then they will play the music and the storm trooper will walk in, hand over the rings and say 'may the force be with you', we then have him for some photos afterwards :rotfl:
My OH will be petrified on the day so hopefully it will break the ice a bit
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

Heehee that's awesome. A few of my friends are in the Rebel Legion and would love this
OP, have you thought about BB Becker jewellery? It's engraved with quotes. I got my OH a wristband with a bronze token on for Christmas, and on it is engraved "Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart". He loves it

The football manager letter idea is brilliant and is something my OH would love. Alex Ferguson is a god in his eyes!
What did you put in the letter?April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -
Here's a link to a thread from a little while ago about people getting letters etc. from football clubs. it has a couple of addresses in it along with a sample letter which somebody used.

Hope this helps! I am going to try and contact Man Utd (OH is from Manchester and has supported them all his life) and might try Muse, as it was kind of at one of their gigs that we started to get togetherMFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0
