Must have been lucky, never had the hard sell, but the letter pointing out the lack of PPI, which I ignored. Money in the bank a couple of days later!!

Very odd, didn't know there were any "extra questions" that aren't included on the webfom!
As AMD has said I filled it in, money in the bank a few days later!
I did ring them to check the progress of my application but got no sales at all, just told it was approved.
Seems an inconsistent approach this from Northern Rock.0 -
I suppose it comes down to who you get on the other end of the phone.
They obviously get commision for selling you their PPI, so it's in their interest to do the 'hard sell.'
I've had 3 loans with NR over the years, all telephone applications. The last one was the most pushy when it came to the PPI.Dave. :wave:0 -

Having worked for a bank, I can tell you they DO get most of their commission from PPI.hence the hard sell.In most cases ,t'aint worth the paper it is written on cos they will turn you own for any claim cos you had a boil on your bum in 1979 that you didnt declare.......Debts :Paypal £1981.32
Monzo Loan £4278.16
Virgin CC £2137 0% until Dec 23
HSBC £5471.01 0% until Feb 2025
Emergency pot £404.47/2500
1p Savings Challenge £1.45/660
52 week Savings: £22.00/14000 -
PANHOLIO,
Are you able to tell me what credit reference agency Northern Rock used for your application?
