By that definition milk, cream, yogurt, creme fraiche, clotted cream, sour cream are processed as well as tinned pulses and cheese.
  • My essentials include those already mentioned especially spuds carrots and onions. flour, butter and milk for white sauce, can add alsorts to that but favourite is cheese. We always have tons of cheese :D Another must is Atora suet again so versatile for sweet or savoury. We eat very little processed and avoid anything with sugar substitutes. Meat is almost all organic and the only real processed product is curry sauces but they too are organic so no nasties.

Thinking really of avoiding the stuff thats processed whilst adding crud to it type of food.
Ham scares the heck out of me so many different packs and contents.

We only buy the full sugar squashes as read a long time ago that asspartame wasn't too good for you and would rather have the sugar!

lindseykim13 Lidl sells a prosciutto (Parma ham) with the proper Parma crown to show it's authentic. It has no additives, just salt and costs 1.99 I think.

You can see the official Parma ham consortium video on YouTube

  • Sainsburys don't use aspartamine in own brand things, only lemonade I drink now! Bought some fruit salad & marshmallow squash from Morrisons last night (for my 4yr old who likes pink drinks?!) again no aspartamine :)

I cook mostly from scratch too.

There are lots of recipes I enjoy but you can't beat a good, old fashioned roast: small amount of good quality meat then loads of veg including roasties and HM gravy. Yum!!

And I enjoy the bubble squeak next day!:)

When I cook, the only salt I put in is what is in the Oxo cube. I once came back from town at 7pm and forgot to take something out of the freezer for tea. Popped into Aldi and bought a cottage pie ready meal.

I had to bin it as was so salty! 3.7g of salt.

Manufacturers put a lot of salt in food to make it tastier or to preserve it. We don't cook with salt and other than on boiled eggs I never put salt on my food. Fresh, flavourful food, doesn't need drowning in salt. It does take a few weeks to get used to having less salt but the end result is that the tastebuds become more ..sensitive, I guess.. better able to taste, anyway.
