my partner had a car crash in 2005 and didn't have insurance he was fined and banned. the three people in the car made a personal injury claim he also hit two cars. he knows he did wrong and paid the price for it. he has now received a letter from a company recovering the debt for MIB for the crash. the amount is 76,156. he received a letter in 2006 maybe 2007 stating MIB are dealing with we telephoned them they said he doesn't need to do anything just await comes. we never heard anything till now. does anybody have any advice or had any dealings with this sort of thing. also very new to this website and just notice posted in completely the wrong place

i am going through same thing atm...what was the outcome for you?
  • Still waiting really it can't be barred because its personal injury claims the time limits get extended which is what we were first advised we are now awaiting a break down for the £76,000 and are only option really is to go bankcrupt but we need the break down as you can't go bankcrupt for personal injury payments and we are guessing its not all for personal injury as nobody was seriously injured. If your on low income I would contact dawn advice or CAB they will do all the letters for you or advise you what to write.
