Thanks OP.
Just hope my Collie doesn't work it out, he's only 4 months old and already loves my current bin with no lid.0 -
Just got mine home. Pug definitely can't activate it but seems terrified of the sounds it makes!
Not sure if I'll be keeping mine - the constant flashing red LED is pretty irritating, plus the fact that if the batteries died (and you were waiting to replace them) you can't really open the lid easily manually.0 -
Just got mine home. First thoughts....
It is more 'tinny' that the Brabantia bins (I checked it side by side with Brabantia in a neighbouring store when I collected it)
It is a good size for a bin
It is annoying there is no inner bin over which to hook the bin liner....so the white swing bin liners I have need to hang over the outside edge of the bin (ruins the look somewhat:eek:)
The sensor is a bit 'insensitive' - takes a few passes of the hand sometimes to make it close (opening is fine). There seems to be an area about 20cm above the sensor panel which sets it off (although the instructions say 30cm, my bin seems to like closer contact;))
I'm going to keep it, because at the end of the day it is just a bin and is good value for money - but I can see why Brabantia and Oxo Good Grips charge more. I would never have paid full price for this bin.0 -
My OH has just got home and inspected it - looks like we will be keeping it as he says he likes it.
I thought it just automatically closed after 3 seconds and you couldn't swipe your hand to close it before that, as doing so would just keep it open for another 3 seconds?
There's a black plastic ring in mine and something in the instructions about hooking the bin bag over that, but haven't had chance to get a bin bag out and work out what to do with it yet!0 -
The one I had closed automatically unless something was in the way2 angels in heaven :A0

Thank you:beer: There is indeed a black plastic ring to hook the bin liner over - mine was fitting so neatly in the bottom of the bin that I didn't see it (and failed to read the instructions on that bit properly:o)
Bin liner now neatly kept within the bin, so the bin looks very smart in the kitchen now:T0 -
For that price I'd expect it to sense when it's full and walk itself out to the wheelie bin :rotfl:

Picked mine up today. Used my £5 off voucher so £29.99
I like the fact that you can turn the Senor off, so that a) my Collie won't be able to open it and b) to save batteries. And being metal its too heavy for him to knock over.
Didn't come with batteries and glad someone pointed out the black ring for the bag in the bottom of the bin.0 -
On off switch has broken and is stuck in the off position so bin going back tomorrow.0
