Do Quaker Oats go off?

I've got a box of Quaker oats with a best before date of 27.10.2012 . It's nearly fully and has been used once probably about 4 months ago. They've been kept in the cardboard box where you fold the cardboard opener back into the box so not particularly airtight. Should I throw them away? What would they taste like if they are old and not fresh? TIA.

They would taste old and not fresh.
As I'm using oats from 2008 for porridge occasionally and noticed no ill effect I'd suggest that 2010 oats are fairly safe.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

I don't think you'd notice any difference in the taste - the best before date was only a couple of months ago.0 -
