I have a thing about the Tyrell's Field of Dreams daily competition to win crisps... would LOVE to win that!0

I'm a sucker for books. Shame there are not more book competitions. Loads for kids but my son can hardly speak yet, let alone read. My partner wants me to get a Kindle - or win a Kindle - but there's nothing like the feel of a book and the expectation of the first page. I so wanted to win the book a week comp recently at We Love This Book. I got all the answers right (got most of them before looking on MSE which was silly) but didn't win. It would have been my highlight of the year.
Like your choice FUZZ62. It's just one of those things you must have - but don't quite know why ..........or perhaps you do !!0 -
I don't think anyone can top that for sheer randomness, fuzz!
I'm a sucker for books too - have far too many - but I love proofs and first editions; have never won any though.
I quite like art (not modern art that is, to my eyes, just squiggles), but landscapes and cityscapes, but they're few and far between.0 -

Nice to find another book lover. I bought a signed proof copy of Alan Hollinghurst's The Stranger's Child in 2011 convinced he would win the Booker as he's one of my favourite authors and it was time he won again. I keep it wrapped in bubble wrap, never to be touched. Sad or what??? No, don't answer that !0 -

Haha, nope not sad at all - I would do the same
I used to work in a library so I'm a purist when it comes to books. I could not bring myself to ever handle a Kindle, let alone own one. I love the feel of a new book. For me, opening the first page of a brand new book is like opening a Christmas present.0 -
i have to say i dont know what it is that draws me to it ... but there is just something!
lol the mrs says im not allowed to win it and asks what i would do with it ... honestly ... i dont know, take the kids and run around the garden maybe?Goal --> 2016 Competition Wins 1/120 -

Books are my fave thing to win!0 -
There is a Play.com Twitter comp to win a replica gun from a video game in pink:

Not really my thing but I reckon quite a few fans would love it0 -

I'd probably wear it out! Me and my OH dress up as GI Joe characters at conventions so it'd be kind of nice to dress up as something out of 2000AD instead!
My "fantasy" prizes (ie, the ones I fantasize most about winning when I'm entering them) are ALWAYS hampers - I've just got this fascination with hampers! I KNOW it's only a basket with food it in, but I want one SO MUCH! Oh, and Lego - we're both AFOL (Adult Fans of Lego) so that's always near the top of my want-to-win lists.Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie0 -
There was a competition for a skull that I knew I'd love to win last year and I did :j
Likely because no one else wanted it :rotfl:
You can add me to the list of book lovers! I always enjoy winning a book. I enter for every book going because I love reading random books even if they're not my usual type. I like to try something a bit different. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not
May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx0
