New Comper advice

Hi Compers,

I am new to this game and Im looking for any advice. I enter lots using different sites but seem to come across the same competitions alot, is this common?

I am also checking my emails all the time hoping for a win, do people receive winning emails at the weekend?

I stick to entering comps posted on this site only - simply because you can disqualify yourself by entering twice into many comps PLUS I prefer this site to all the others and this has plenty to keep me busy!

I receive the odd WEM at the weekend but most arrive during the week.

I agree - I've tried other sites but this is the best for competition listings, help and general camaraderie!

You know one of the things I really like about this site? No jealousy. When you post that you've won something, you get others saying "well done", not "oh, I really wanted that, and I've been trying harder than you to win it".

With regard to OP's question about the when WEM's (Winning EMails) arrive, I get a load mid-month, I would imagine they're mostly from comps that end at the end of months.

Actually, that's given me a idea about adding a couple new columns into my swanky new spreadsheet - End Date and Time between Notification. Will post findings if anyone is interested, if not then close your eyes and press 'Page Down' key or scroll wheel or something!

End date to unexpected prize received ave. 9.2 days (3 wins)
Notification to prize received ave. 7 days (5 comps(so far))
Tuesdays most popular notification day (6) then Weds (5) - only 1 for Sat

Just a thought. There's been some comment on Facebook "Like and Share" comps re the cheating by some companies.

I don't enter "Like and Share" comps because my Facebook is private, rather than public, but it sometimes irks me when I click on Facebook comps that they turn out to be L&S so, it occurred to me that it might be an idea to amend the "FB" after comps to be either "FB" or "FB L&S" if you see what I mean.

Anyone got any ideas, comments?, please.
