Great camera, have it in costco for £173inc vat. Cheapest online is amazon at £190, other places have it at over £300.

Thanks for the prod though - noticed DSG now have an S5700 (although the S6500 was the updated S5600 - will have to check for reviews - confusing or what..?).

Looks like the S5700 is a "parallel upgrade"...

7.1mpix instead of 6.3, no face recognition focus, 10x zoom instead of 10.7 (was also 10.7 on the s5600), max ISO 1600 instead of 3200, can use SD as well as xD (think it's only xD on the S6500).

And... it's the same number in the US!! (unlike the S5100/S5600, S9000/S9500, S9100/S9600, and as Jon said S6000/S6500 - maybe a pattern there - could be the number of dollars added to the UK price - lol).

Anyway, by the time you've weighed up all the pros and cons, whatever you pick will be £50 cheaper...

For Fuji check out their refurb shop online, they have substantial reductions. This was discussed a few weeks ago in relation to another of their cameras, the s9500.

The s5700 is also a lot smaller and lighter. for me the SD option clinched it. the £9.99 2gig SD's at Play.com work really well in it so far.

The S6500 is £169, refurb'd on the Fuji site, or £179 at Argos (with 12 months warranty)...

Have just received a S6500fd from the fuji site at £136, the 5700 is also available at £106. Delivered next day, so far very impressed.
