Toaster

Hello
Can anyone recommend a toaster? Ideally don't want to spend more than £40 and only need it for 2 slices of toast.
My only 'need' is that it makes really good even toast!
Thanks

Now I have too many to choose from haha
Current one is a Morphy Richards and it has been ok too
Thinking about Breville VTT202 but amazon reviews aren't great...0 -
The VTT202 scored 72%, here's the blurb
The Breville VTT202 2-slice toaster features variable browning controls, slot widths that can be adjusted to take thick or thin slices, and illuminated buttons to help guide you. Our experts find out if any of these features help this toaster make the perfect slice of toast.
This toaster qualifies as a Best Buy because it's quick, toasting is fairly even and it achieves a good coverage of browning across the whole slice.
Best for fresh bread
The VTT202 is fairly quick to toast fresh bread, and the results are fairly even, with a lovely golden brown shade covering the whole slice.
It's not quite as good at toasting frozen bread, as it tends to over brown the bread - especially when the toaster's been used several times in a row.
Suits smaller sized bread
Like most 2-slice toasters we see in our test lab, any standard-sized bread will fit with no problems, but the toasting chambers can't accommodate tall or wide slices of bread.
If this is your preferred choice of bread, cut a slice in half to toast fully and make use of the high-lift feature, which lifts smaller items clear of the hot toaster top.
Teacakes, crumpets and bagels fit with no problems.
Shiny body can obscure browning levels
Simple controls make this Best Buy toaster easy to use, but the shiny polished panel can make it tricky to see the browning level numbers marked on the browning control, due to the reflection.
The controls illuminate, to make it easy to see what's been selected, and this model features a defrost setting (for frozen bread), and benefits from a reheat setting, which can be useful if you miss the end of the toasting cycle.
Good crumb tray
It's possible to remove the crumb tray without spilling crumbs everywhere, and it doesn't require much force to use it.
Painted surfaces won't show many marks, but the shiny polished metal parts on this toaster will mark easily, and need a bit more effort to keep them clean - especially as this is where the control panel sits, so will attract fingerprints easily.
Our lab experts spotted a few dirt traps around the toaster body, but they're all easily accessible for thorough cleaning.
Pros: Good browning coverage, defrost and reheat settings
Cons: Shiny, polished metal panels are hard to keep cleanThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Try the sainsburys own one! It has holes for four slices of bread, but allows you to do two at a time. Both slots have variable toast settings, it's in brushed steel so easy to keep clean. It can toast bread properly too. The best bit is its £20. The reviews for it are far better than the more expensive ones that I've seen, and am very happy with it. I've had it for over a year now, and it's still going strong with lots of use"Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"
