£1 national express tickets

Thanks for posting. However the offer is VERY misleading. If I choose a route/time it says "from £1", but the next page only has options for £16 or £19. Very deceptive of National Express to do that! :mad:Elite 5:2 #54 12/13 lbs (18 Jan) 1st Target :j0

This is the most annoying thing ever  Trying to book Loughborough - London and for every single date it says 'from £1'. So I click on a date and it has a choice of journeys, some £1, some £7. So I choose a £1, and on the next page there is no 'not amendable not refundable' option, only options that cost £24! Erm, what? I've tried a whole range of different times, different dates and the same result. Well done to those who've got it, but it's infuriating that they still display these prices but then won't let you have them. I don't know whether to keep on trying or if I'm just wasting my time

Tried again today and still the same - says lots of journeys available for £1 and then when you try to book them suddenly it's a full price ticket. They've had plenty of time to update the website so it doesn't look like that's the issue - it's just a CON. Contrary to what it said in the email when I registered for the offer, you are offered cheaper tickets for the same journey if you book through their normal website! Plus I wasted £1 buying the Mirror. Pfft :mad:0 -
Tried to book tickets twice, once yesterday, once today - this is the most misleading offer ever. It says one pound and then goes on to offer it at over 28.00 - Booking from London Euston to Preston.
I looked for the third 'not amendable not refundable' from this forum but there is no link...
What a total waste of time. How frustrating..0 -

Sorry cant help more0 -

It's ok - I did use ipad, but had no luck at all booking.
Ah well - will have to be quicker next time!0 -
As someone going through a long-distance relationship right now, this offer has allowed me to momentarily reunite a few months earlier. Brilliant deal. Thank you, OP!0

Hey, I was ripping my hair out trying to see why none of the £1 fares were showing up for me too. I was using the Chrome browser on my laptop and was seeing nothing other than £30 fares (£20 more expensive than the fun fare price listed on the normal National Express coach site which is a bit crazy). Decided to give it a go on my parents computer. Using internet explorer the £1 fare was listed on every date that I'd been trying before on my own computer and I've since successfully purchased four tickets.Tried again today and still the same - says lots of journeys available for £1 and then when you try to book them suddenly it's a full price ticket. They've had plenty of time to update the website so it doesn't look like that's the issue - it's just a CON. To me, this seems a pretty nasty tactic National Express are deploying. I'm guessing the site tracks you and can see whether or not you are a repeat customer. If you are, you don't seem to be getting the cheap fare and I suppose they expect you to shell out for an even more expensive one than normal (???).
My advice is to try again on a different computer with a different web browser if the £1 fare isn't appearing for you. There are still tickets available, it just seems the site hides them from you if you fit a certain profile.0 -

Wow thanks so much, I really can't believe that actually worked! I normally use IE and Firefox so tried Chrome instead and - success! :T
Rather underhand if they really are trying to limit the offer to certain people, though, because it was advertised as for everyone

What I find odd is that when I use this link to view ticket prices, certain times have the from £1 fare, but when you select this and go to next page it gives only an option of £12 or £15 fare (no matter what browser I use). Even stranger is when I use the national express website without that link I can get the same trip at the same time for £7...Please God, help me stop spending!0
