Sorry just realised yours is 42" which is £1099 so by the time you've paid for a stand they are the same price so it boils down to 5 year or dvd recorder to be honest i'd have the 5 year guarantee.

Nice TV, they can be got cheaper like £799 from empire for the screen only.

Now for the magic bit. Take that print out to John Lewis they will price match with empire as empire have bricks and mortar stores a few up here in Bolton over in Leeds. As your buying from JL at the lower empire price then you also get the 5 year warrenty. good ehh?
