Are beauty trimmers OK for eyebrows?

Does anyone use those small beauty trimmers and are they OK for shaping thick eyebrows?

I have thick eyebrows which grow quickly, I can't pluck them myself and am fed up of going to have them waxed about every five weeks and making an appointment just for five minutes and then they grow again in no time. I am thinking of one of those trimmers but will it make my eyebrows look OK?

  • I've been using one of these to sort my eyebrows out for about 10 years! I HATE plucking and threading as I have such sensitive skin it just results in painful little spots and bruising.

I am quite fair haired, so it works well for me. If you have black or very dark brown brow's it probably won't shave near enough for you.

    Good luck :)
  • What are these trimmers? Sound interesting?

You're likely to end up with a permanent stubble look - might be a bit odd. Why not go to one of the threading bars in Debenhams/ HoF etc? No need to book, just pop in when you're passing.

They aren't available on amazon at the minute, but I've just replaced my older one with one off ebay for less than a fiver. Battery powered.

They really are fab if you don't have black / very dark brown hair :)

you really don't! The great thing is you could use it every morning as part of your make up routine, or do it every few days or so. It's not something that takes a long time.

Stubble would only generally show if you had black hair.

  • Hmm can't understand how you use it on eyebrows?
  • Thanks for this, I do have dark eyebrows though but my work colleague does and she uses a trimmer from the pound shop and seems to be OK. I just find it a bind having my eyebrows waxed, like having my hair done or anything else that takes time but an appointment for five minutes is a pain. I have tried threading and didn't take to it.
