Hotels/Restaurants near Cockermouth

I am arranging a get together in October for my husbands 40th, we have hired a large house near Cockermouth and now need to find somewhere we could go for a nice meal, I would prefer somewhere that has a private dining room, there would be 20 adults and 4 children. Does anyone have any good local knowledge of the best places, thanks.
