Even so for that price you could barely buy a decent secondhand laptop. Full price new is nearly £1000.00. If it had a few scratches you can buy decal on E-Bay and Etsy for the cover and keyboards.

You can pick these up in better condition reconditioned with a full guarantee (not 4 months where they will refuse to take delivery of the item or answer any communications) for about £300. Its a standard macbook, not a Pro or Air, and its a little old.

Oh and the CS is shockingly bad, they do sell products that are not in full working order and will not sort out any issues as they can send you a broken laptop without any recourse.

    Avoid.

Whilst I would not buy this offer, I do disagree that their CS is "shockingly bad". I have used Student Computers several times and only had a problem once, when they promptly offered a replacement for a faulty item, so no issues at all.

It seems my experience is more the norm than that of DomRavioli, judging by feedback left on TrustPilot and ReviewCentre.
  • I'm ordering one, I used to have one of these for use at work, and was heartbroken when I had to give it back. It's not air or pro, or a new model, but with apple computers, I don't know that it matters. They keep doing the thing they do, and they do it really well. That computer I had was in 2007 and it's still far more impressive than any other computer I've used since, including newer PC's. For £250 delivered I can take a couple of scratches and shiny keys. For me it's perfect, so thanks OP.
  • Sounds good to me!
Same seller is on ebay for same price.
With quidco you get about £7-8 off via ebay, and still the 4 month warranty.
With a warranty and paypal protection, nothing is particulary risky these days. Lots have sold on ebay in 2 days so they wont hang around for long.

    Thanks for the post!
