Ok - I really didn't have a choice in the upgrade. I was moved into a new team on a new grade doing the same job for the same money (but with more benefits) Its not so much the job being difficult but rather repetitive and not really want I want to keep doing. I am already applying for other jobs. The depression is there anyway and brought on by a number of thingsbut certain times at work can trigger feelings to get worse when stressed - this is usually due to things being out of my control. Part of me would actually be glad to leave but as they say - it is easier to get a job whilst you are in one

I think I'll focus on how to reduce stress at these times when I see OCH - they were ok last time. I just wanted to make sure I knew what the score was should the worst happen.

I phoned up last week due to being physically sick - however, a deadline needed to be met - the task could only really be done by me (there is not adequate cover) so I did end up working from home both days - my line manager had not asked me to fill in a sick leave form and by all accounts is putting this down as working from home. It is 3 months since my last sick day - so cannot understand why they are saying it has not got any better.

I see. I suspect that what has happened is that HR has run a periodic report of those who have a sick record above one its trigger points.

I do not know about your firm but some are fairly sympathetic about workplace stress. If they are planning to take further action they will want to make sure they have done all they can to address the causes.

zzzLazyDaisy's earlier post seems lioke good advice (as usual!)
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.
