Has anyone tried freezing these, it says not suitable for freezing but my friend has just dropped 5 round, obviously she did not like them but I have three left from our trip. At 760 calories each I would like to spread them out over several weeks (if not months).
Your thoughts please, they have a thick piped buttercream type frosting on them.

goodness that is a lot of calories...are they huge ? i have frozen sponge cake very sucessfully but havent tried the buttercream...worth a try i would sayonwards and upwards0

the actual cake part should be fine, but I doubt the buttercream/icing would survive which in turn may spoil the rest of the cake upon defrosting.
If you can freeze them without any frosting you should be able to defrost without any issuesknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
They are huge but they are gorgeous. The buttercream is divine so I think I will risk it. I have just remember I froze the top tear of my wedding cake which was lemon and that had a lemon buttercream type of icing and that was ok.
They were freebies so I might as well give it a go.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

The icing probably accounts for a lot of that. In your position I would go ahead and freeze them - just cut into eight slices a piece each first!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I wondered that too.....
But yesterday I defrosted HM carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, thinking the cream cheese would split and be horrible, but it was perfect, I was very surprised because I thought cream cheese would not like being frozen!0 -
There's no problem freezing cake and buttercream, but they've possibly been frozen already so re-freezing is a no-no.0
