Memory foam toppers/mattresses

Hi Money-savers, having had the praises of memory foam mattresses sung to me by a friend, I've entered the market for a try out, only to find that the choice is bewildering. So if any one can help me with a couple of things I would be grateful
1) Does anyone know if there is a showroom in London, where I might try them out?
2) been thinking that otherwise as I don't really know what they will be like, a good entry level would be to get a 5cm "topper" to add to my existing mattress to see if I like it.
To this end I have been looking at the memoryfoamwarehouse website, where they seem as good as any online, and have a good sale on at present - can anyone share any experience of their toppers, or mattresses?
Very grateful for any help!

In my experience, if your bed is firm and you want to make it softer, a foam matress wont help much. If you just want a bit more padding then it fine, but it wont make the actual bed feel springier/softer.
Try dunelm..0 -
I have a very firm mattress and topped it with a 2" topper - I absolutely love it. I sleep much better than I ever did.
If your present mattress is firm and in good condition I personally would try the cheaper option of a topper.0 -
Thanks Lady Dee - sounds good to me. Any chance you can tell me which brand/ where you purchased it?
