my girlfriend wants to get a loan to clear off her credit cards and sort out her finances, she has a slightly below average credit rating but still gets approved for hp etc, she's had no ccjs or defaults just some missed payments, but the banks etc won't give her one. i know from experience (although i have a much worse credit rating) that there are a ot of companies who charge fees etc just to apply and basicaly scam you out of £50 or ask you to dial 090 numbers to confirm details etc.
are there any reputable companies that could help her out that people know of? shes after about 4-6k and is a tenant so it could be a tough one!

Rather than taking on more debt, how about suggesting to your girlfriend that she pops into the debt-free wannabe board, posts a statement of affairs (i.e. incomings, outgoings and debts & apr's and see what the people on there can do to help. You'll be surprised at the mountain of helpful tips that'll come her way and she may be able to sort herself out without taking on a loan at all.
Good luck.0 -

Good luck.
she needs some of the money to move house, her contracts up in a few months and she wants somewhere smaller and cheaper, but obviously has to pay a deposit, agents fees etc and a months rent on top of her current rent, so she needs to find some money quick to secure the house0 -
So basically she wants to increase her debts just to move house? Crazy!0

well not exactly, she has such high balances on her cards she can only meet minimum payments if she clears them with a loan she can actually be reducing the debt by making the monthly payment whereas at present the interest keeps going up and shes never going to chip away at it. plus by moving house she's freeing up £200 to go towards her debts0

Has she not got a deposit to come back from the house she's in?
If you look on https://www.gumtree.com, you might find a house direct from the landlord with no agents' fees.
The loan would have interest on it as well don't forget. Thats interest on top of interest, which is why consolidating is never a good idea.
Get yor GF to post an SOA on the Debt Free Wannabe board, she will find some excellent advice on there, and then she can make a fully informed choice. Good Luck!0
