Any compers off work today and comping?

I don't work at the mo due to poor health so in comping where it is warm :j Just wondered if there are any compers out there who couldn't get into work so are enjoying the day with feet up, warm drink (or whisky) by their side and enjoying a comping session!

Must confess - I feel far less guilty about sitting in comping when the weather is cold than during the Summer when it is lovely outside!

I was retired because of ill health at the ripe old age of 40!, found the comp boards 2 years later :D. You need to move with the times BlueBella, on a hot day in summer I can be found sunbathing on the decking with a towel over my head and laptop so I can see the screen to comp :rotfl::rotfl:
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

LOL Becky! I must admit I have tried to take my laptop out with me on hotter days but can never seem to see the screen due to the suns rays and the neighbours must chuckle when they see me with my extension cable running from the back door, across the lawn, and to my laptop!

I went into work this morning in the snow, but it got worse and I came home at lunchtime and spent the afternoon comping. Mind you, I had to take it as holiday leave and they only let me go home reluctantly.

That is shocking! I had to go to the dentists today and whilst I was in the waiting room, I heard the secretary calling loads of clients, who obviously had appointments this pm, asking them if they could either come in earlier (before 1.30pm) or rearrange for another day, as the dentists wanted to leave early with the snow. Apparently they closed at 2pm.

Companies should consider the safety of their workers when the weather is bad. You boss should have been saying - why don't you try and get away home early before the weather gets worse! bah humbug to your boss  - hope you entered a lucky draw this pm! :j

Am in South Wales, when DD was about 7 months old & I was still breastfeeding, I went into work (midwife), hospital 20 miles away, made it to work despite weather, hubby rang a few hours later to say they were closing the roads. Explained to boss they were closing roads back to my house, was told "they're not closed yet", ended up working a morning, afternoon & night shift as other staff couldn't get in and I couldn't get home.
Managed to get home following afternoon, another heavy snowfall happened so rang to say I couldn't get in & they wanted to send a 4X4 out to pick me up! That's the NHS for you!
As a Community Midwife if we couldn't get in to surgery, we had to walk to calls in a 3 mile radius which wasn't so bad.

Screen visibility is a problem, hence me lying on belly with beach towel over head & laptop, must admit I do look rather odd with bronzed bod and lily white face :rotfl::rotfl:
