Amazon and Nectar

Just had an email from Nectar to say that you will no longer be able to collect or spend Nectar points at Amazon wef 31 Jan. This is a real shame as it is almost all I use my Nectar points for! Anyway, if you are planning an Amazon spend using Nectar points, do it now!!

That's a shame, although I didn't buy much from Amazon, it was the only cashback offered that I could find.
And now ebay have stopped offering cashback unless its through Nectar as well, grr to ebay, used TCB and it all stacked up
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time

I found the amazon vouchers very handy over Xmas for presents, thats the only time I use my Nectar points as well for Amazon.

Here's an idea, assuming you already shop in Sainsburys

Instead of converting 2000 points into a £10 gift-card, go to Sainsburys and use up those nectar points on general shopping (same exchange rate I believe), and then buy a £10 Amazon gift-card and pay with the money you saved by using the nectar points for the general shop.

That's what I've done. Had £45 worth of points so couldn't see the point in saving them any more.
  • Deleted post! It repeated someone else's!
  • That's rubbish, and I didn't even get an email to warn me, although thankfully did just order an Amazon voucher on Jan 30th (which is yet to arrive). This is really disappointing as that's the main thing I used them for, but perhaps I will do as suggested above and effectively use the points to buy an Amazon voucher at Sainsbury's stores.
  • I only found this out through here. I just went to buy something from Amazon & couldn't find it on the list of eShops......

Also, I just sent a complaint to Nectar (for the second time in 12 months) as they had not honored the triple & double points offers for Amazon purchases in Nov 12.
Having made a double points purchase which was never credited to my account, i decided to keep a log of my purchases via the site, a relatively simple things as i only use nectar really with Amazon. I just discovered In November alone 4 out of my 5 purchases with Amazon were not credited the extra points they were owed (one was normal points so that's OK).
I have allowed them 14 days to reply. Next step Trading Standards, unless anyone here can suggest better route? I'm about to write to Amazon too to see if they have anything to say about it

I wonder if Amazon dropping Nectar has anything to do with my little issue........?
