Damaged bank notes

Probably not in the right board but this is my 'home' board so I will post it here.
Occasionally either in our change or in my case in the business I work in we get handed damaged (torn, defaced, badly worn) bank notes and often just assume that they are useless and cannot be used. However I discovered tonight that it is possible to send them back to the Bank of England and they will then send a cheque for the amount of the damaged note(s).
I've not actually done it yet, I have a £5 going back to them tomorrow in the post. The link is here http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/Pages/damaged_banknotes.aspx
It looks quite straight forward, I will keep you posted on what happens with the £5 I'm sending back (it has a chunk of it missing).

Sticky tape is fine if you have both parts of the note, this one has the edge missing but has it's serial number so can still be changed.0
