I have seen someone mentioning that they use stuffing mix in Bolognes sauce?
I would love to try this!!
I already use grated carrot and lentils to bulk out bolognes, and i want to make a HUGE vat of sauce for the freezer!!:D

Well stuffing is basically bread crumbs and dried onions (plus un-needed additives) so you could put those in it yourself, but I think bread is the wrong (cheap) bulker to use. I would rather add lentils which will do the same job, taste nicer and be healthier!
Don't forget the more you add that is not as per a normal recipe the more it becomes a pasta sauce with a bit of meat.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
ive seen peopple use porridge oats too, i tried it once and ahem i must have got carried away as it was foul!:A :j0

What about a packet of the dried stuffing mix?
I have packets upon packets of it.... ( I love stuffing, so do the children)
Has anyone ever tried just adding a packet of it in?Faith [STRIKE]£35.60[/STRIKE], Adams [STRIKE]£1318.02[/STRIKE]/ 1293.02:mad:

I add stuffing mix when making chicken casserole in slow cooker, not too much as it can be overpowering,Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, And Today is a Gift, That's Why it's Called The Present

This is quite a nice Mary Berry recipe using packet stuffing mix
Saturday Chicken (4 people)
4 leg portions chicken skinned
2 rounded tablespoons of lemon & thyme stuffing mix
1 large clove of garlic (crushed)
1 tin tomatoes
1 chicken stock cube
1/4 pint red wine
1 tablespoon of seedless jam
salt & pepper
Mix everything together and pour over chicken portions and cook in oven at 180C for about 1 hour in a covered casserole dish.
I have also done this in slow cooker. I have also used sage & onion stuffing mix.0
