Self Assessment online for Mileage

Hi,

I have been helping my sister out completing her mileage claim as tax relief from HMRC. I've sorted 11/12 out and thats submitted. But she never claimed for 10/11.

The mileage claim is over £2500, does anyone know how we go about claiming for 10/11. Obviously we can't do is via the online self assessment as its for this year!

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to check her online account under 'tax returns' to see if a 10/11 tax return was issued. If it was, you have until 31 Jan 2013 to submit or amend it. If it hasn't been issued, then use either the 'contact us' section online or call HMRC on 0845 300 0627 to request a 10/11 return be issued. Your sister will need to do this herself. Once it has been issued, you will then be able to see the issue date online & it can be submitted online.
