Help!

I started my new job in August. I've been asking for my payslips every month. Got it this week. My first payslip is since September. On payslip is PAYE Tax -93.40 ... What does the negative means? And my NET PAY is £1542.04. And I have received £1271,80 on my account. So it's not right! Just don't understand what does it mean?! Did I overpaid my tax in previous job? Please help me. Thank you

Need to see how its written exactly, but negative normally means its a deduction from your pay where as a positive means adding to your takehome pay - tax is evidently normally a deduction.

Best bet is to speak to your manager or HR to have the payslip explained if you dont understand it

Can't really tell with so little info. You would imagine you got a rebate with the -93.40 but mine always had the (R) not the minus sign and the net figure not matching what you received is a couple of hundred pounds difference. First call should be to your payroll office if you think a mistake has been made.

Thank you for your answers bollotom & InsideInsurance more info: my gross pay £1560.00, PAYE Tax -93.40, National Insurance 111.36 and NET PAY is £1542.04. And I received £1271.80. The months after is Gross Pay £1560.00 PAYE Tax 176.80, National Insurance 111.36 and my NET PAY £1271.84. And I received £1271.80

It would appear it is a rebate in this case but you evidently need to speak to them given neither received monies matches the payslips
