very/ndr

hi, i had an account with very which got passed to ndr, i was paying some off a month but the balance never comes down with all the astronomical charges! i kinda have ignored the problem and haven,t paid since oct, i have been bombarded with calls off them and letters, i haven,t been answering there calls but eventually i did the other day, they said they have passed it on to another dca but wouldn,t say who, are they allowed to do this?i,m so fed up of this debt, it stands at about 1750 .00 at present of which most of is interest and any other charges they wish to add, i would really like to refuse tp pay any back other than what i actually owe in goods i bought and NOT the ridicolous charges, please can anybody give me any advice?? x:mad:

Ignoring the debt is not the best way to deal with it.

What charges are they adding each month? and are these as per the terms of the original credit agreement?

Have you at some point written to them to explain your circumstances and how much you can afford a month and asked them to consider freezing interest?

They are allowed to pass the debt to a different debt collector, as long as they don't have 2 debt collection agents chasing you at the same time. If the debt is sold to a debt collector then very should write to you to inform you of that.

They are not Very good at communication unless it is there threatening default better pay us type etters

i had an account with liitlewoods/ very account which was also with NDR and in december i went to pay online but couldnt get access my account after 3 diffrent phone calls they told me i was passed onto someone else ...still waiting in written confirmation and not getting paid till i do
  • hi, charges are about 62.00 per month, they did freeze the interest and i was paying 50.00 a month but that agreement has ended now, i,ve written to them and asked for another payment plan with interest frozen , they told me to ring and when i did it was the dca and they said they,d passed it on, i have done the sar thing and the credit agreement thing, i never signed anything so they couldn,t provide me with it, i can pay each month but i,m sick of the massive charges on, they haven,t written to say they,ve passed it on, just told me that on the phone, can i reclaim all these ridicolous charges back? thanks for your reply x
  • hi, they a pain aren,t they! i,m not paying until i know what going on!
  • I too got sick of NDR, so gave up paying them as they had defaulted me and I got bored of them not responding to my letters. think I got about 40 default notices, quite funny really, post man must hate me...although only one on my credit file, correctly.

Anyhow, they passed to capquest, who asked me to pay. I offered them a monthly fgure and reminded them it was unenforceable as really old and no agreement. they have left me alone since and I send them a payment every month.

just sit back until it sorts itself out, took them 3 months to write to me after NDR sold it.

  • thanks for your reply, i will just sit back and wait, i,m not stressing over it anymore, i did write a letter of complaint out about the high interest charges and any other charge they feel they have to add on! most of the debt is charges which is the most annoying part about it ! i,ll just ride the storm ! ha, thanks x
  • Yeah, think I remember you posting about that a while back. Did they ever respond to your complaint?

If not, worth referring to FOS. Slow process, but will at least cost them the £500 referral fee and you never know.

  • yeah i did post a while ago, i,ve been paying 50.00 , then the years arrangement was up, so i,ve been still paying but not as much, then i stopped in oct, silly i know, i was looking through the sar paperwork and it says on there theres no credit agreement, i,ve asked again twice for them to stop interest and charges and they just not bothered, i might still send another letter of complaint, i,ve got nothing to loose i don,t think, i,m just waiting for the next hounding to start from the next dca,!! but after reading lots of stuff on here i feel better at dealing with them , hopefully they will be reasonable ! i live in hope!
