Reclaiming overpaid DDs for gas and electricity

I had a strange phone call today from a guy who was respresenting a company called it'syourhomeltd. He said that if you are paying ore than £50 a month on either gas or electricity then you are entitled to a refund of the difference. This goes back 8 years apparently. Having a dual fuel plan which oays over £100 combined it was of interets but I am hugely sceptical as I have not heard of any legislation or govt guidelines to this effect. Also, if this is the case why would utility providers such as mine contuinue to seel payment over the permitted minimum?
It costs £200 up front to cover legal fees but all the money recovered goes back to me.
This is all too good to be true so I'm passing on it but if anyone can vouch for this I'd be interested to hear about it.
Cheers

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck....
So, some bloke called you, told you a yarn about not having to pay more than £100 a month for energy bills (despite massive media coverage of ever rising bills) and claims to be able to get a 'refund' for you but wants an upfront fee of £200?
Hmmm....yeah...right.
Dont touch it with a barge pole.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

(Yes, there really is a street in Swansea called Salubrious Passage)
They even have a website that explains what they mean by 'utilities cashback' http://www.itsyourhomeltd.co.uk/?page_id=221. I'd guess that the £200 is to pay for their 'audit' of your utility bills which might result in a claim that you have been mis-sold an energy contract . But it certainly isn't true that "if you are paying more than £50 a month on either gas or electricity then you are entitled to a refund of the difference".
So who do you contact if you've been mis-sold something by a claims company?0 -
Thanks for the feedback. Not going to concern myself with this anymore. Still I guess it beats the usual PPI calls.0
