Hi there and welcome...it's a great feeling that lightbulb moment...isn't it?....I think baby steps are the right way to go ..in all things in life....you have a very positive plan there and I wish you all the luck..I think it's key not to try to be a perfectionist...that was my biggest downfall...just go with the flow and sometimes things wil get in the way...good luck

I wanna get sorted now too!

Ohhhhhhh please do post the 101 day challenge. I think that would be fantastic for other people, as well as yourself. I for one would definitely be on there.

I'll confess I've got a lot of things in my head that I wish I could achieve by the time I'm 30, admittedly I'm not there just yet but like you've said, your 20's are over in the blink of an eye.

I've not yet thought of what I can do within 101 days, whether i want to totally achieve them within 101 days or be well on my way, but Im certainly going to sit down with a cup of tea and a biscuit and think about it....

I think challenges to focus us are great. I've got long term goals in my head of what I want to acheive but I think that breaking it down into a series of smaller goals helps as its not all so far off. In the past when I started off on a really ambitious plan it was with a mixture of dread and one day missed meant failure. All my plans were like those annoying get ready for the beach or get a star body plans in magazines where they have such amazing diet plans which consist of a slice of toast for breakfast, chicken and salad for lunch and fish and veg for tea with an apple for a snack if you get hungry.:rotfl: Plus an hours exercise a day, and then they always sign off with a patronising 'so now you have no excuse' as if its so easy peasy! Those plans didn't help my thighs or my debt as they always resulted in me spending vast amounts in our overpriced vending machines!

Not this time i'm really excited. I've done my flylady tasks already and am now sitting down with a cup of tea and actually allowing myself to relax rather than getting stressed like I normally would because I should be up doing things all the time!

Not trying to be perfect is a massive thing for me, I never realised it till my boss pointed me out and made me cut myself some slack. The worst thing about trying to be perfect is if one thing goes wrong then i'd had had enough, it wasn't good enough and therefore I was a total failure and wasn't going to play with the other kids anymore....

I enjoyed reading this thread and couldn't move on without saying:

The next time someone says "Oooooh you're going to be thirty...." please [STRIKE]punch them[/STRIKE] ask them what is the point they are making.

Thirty schmirty...so what? I had a ball on my thirtieth birthday (in 2001) and haven't cared about being in my thirties since. It's all about what you do with your body, your attitude, your get up & go. There are some 40,50, 60 somethings out there that frankly, put a lot of 20 somethings to absolute shame.

Don't let someone who thinks a number is a barrier ever put you off or bring you down - you can do this and you'll feel fabulous every time you see a change whether that be physically or mentally.

I'm looking forward to reading your progress! GOOD LUCK! :)

I'm excited that you're excited so much so that its exciting me even more!

I think we're all at fault of never giving ourselves enough me time, and even when we do pause our minds are still 10 to the dozen, thinking of I shouldnt be sitting down with this cuppa, I should be doing x,y and z! And thinking about all that still doesnt mean that we get anything done any quicker! Or at all if you're like me :)

So far I'm on board with the healthy eating, and for fear of being outcast already, I actually need to do it for opposing reasons. But still whats healthy for one is healthy for all!

Also need to start thinking about taking some "me" time and finding something that I want to do thats not for work, that the family would approve of, friends wouldn't judge me for etc.

Like someone said previously (sorry v.bad memory) we often judge ourselves by other peoples expectations or our own assumptions about what other people expect. So I'd really like to push myself (gently!) into developing an interest just for me. That in turn would hopefully give me more confidence to going further and further each time.

I'd like to do a few things in terms of my appearance as well. I had my hair cut last week, but things like my wardrobe needs updating. Plus I've always wanted to get another tattoo, bit cheeky I know!

And I'd like to develop a better system for my flat. You'd think living in a studio, there'd be a saturation point!! Never realised I could make so much mess in such a small space!!!

Hey CAFC, whether its too much or too little weight both are a problems, neither is better or worse or less of an issue.

IMO the less space the worse the mess, when you are in a small space just a couple of things out of place makes the place look a tip. At least thats what I tell myself!

Hi Swishter - just wanted to wish you success in changing things - and you will I am sure! Just a thought: if you want a degree to help with your future job prospects but can't take time out for /afford a full time course do consider the OU. May take a while longer, but gives new circle of friends and most people find it fun (and it provides those qualifications too).
