Hoping someone can help
We are getting married in September and are going to Canada for honeymoon.
I would like to get a new digital camera for us (looking at the 10 month deal at Curry's)
So far I have found the Fuji S9600 which has decent reviews and at £260 sounds no too bad.....
Can anyone else reccomened a decent camera with good optical for aroung the same amount (prefereably from Curry's?)
Thanks muchly - in advance

Get one with a camera manufacturers name on it: Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax; you will get a better lens on your camera.0

Nothing wrong with Fuji, they use Fujinon lenses which are rated among the best.0 -

And Sony use Zeiss lenses (who used to be part of Contax), some of these are acknowleged as being the best you can get (although possibly not the recent/Sony ones, even though they are better than a lot of the competiton).
[edit] Sorry, forgot Kodak with Schneider lenses (and one of the first consumer cameras and Film) and Panasonic with Leica lenses.0 -
The 9600 is selling for £275 and not £199 on the site mentioned earlier, My wife is also considering the 9600 and has seen them on Amazon selling at £246.55.

This may be true but it is also selling for £220 at http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/shop/refurb/shop.php
I bought the E900 from the Fuji Refurb shop (linked above) and its fantastic! 9.0 megapixels for £109!0 -
I'm pretty sure that some FUJI cameras were made by Canon.
My slant on this is, if you are going to be travelling around, do you really want an expensive camera?
For under £100.00 there are some damn good cameras that'll more than suffice. Minimum 3mp will be good enough but surely wont need above 5Mp.
HOWEVER. FOR £99.00 I THINK THIS WILL SUFFICE.

only £106.00 DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR

This is quite a good site for monitoring high street prices http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/search.asp?search=fuji%20camera&h=1&order=percent+DESC; (lots of other stuff if you navigate back to the home page).
Dixons at £240 ish... (make sure you get the 9600, the 9500 is an earlier version - still a good buy, but only if it's more than £50 cheaper.
[edit] url blobbed for some reason - start at offeroftheday.co.uk
AFAIK this isn't a dodgy/referral site - been using it for quite a long time now.0 -
Thanks everyone!
Rizla01, I totally understand your point about not having an expensive camera just for honeymoon - to be honest we want to be able to use it afterwards too.
We are planning to have a family soon (after 11 years of being together) so am happy to shell out a little more!
Thanks for the reccomendations thoughIt's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0
