Can I trust a company called Claim Credit Services Ltd, based in Swansea they cold called me today, stating that they could get me back compensation on my mortgage some £33,000 there would be a fee of £495 plus VAT and they would require 10% of the claim which is fully refundable should I decide not to go ahead. As soon as they asked this alarm bells starting ringing. Is this a scam?

No you cant trust them and yes it is a scam.
Look up advance fee fraud. (in summary, they entice you with some big pay off and you are so wrapped up in your greed for the payoff that you pay the smaller amount. By the time you realise it is a scam, they have long gone - or watch an episode of Hustle which used the same idea every week for many series).
There are quite a few scams doing the rounds right now. Pensions have a fair few (such as getting a £1000 bonus or being able to cash them in). Mortgages have a fair few (and your call is the classic one).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
