Boots points for whole £s only

Noticed a sign up in our local Boots store today.
Advantage card points will only be given for spending on whole pounds from April.
So, for example, a spend of £2.80 used to give you 11 points (2x4 + 3) as its 4 points per £1 and 1 for each 25p.
Now you will get 8 for any spend between £2 and £2.99
This will also affect double and triple points earned.
No date in April was given on the notice, but I only got points for my full £1s spending today - not the odd 70p.
Earlier this week, an order from boots.com gave me full credit for the pennies spent - don't know if and when this rule will apply the internet and whether all stores are implementing the change at the same time.
