Credit File Clean Up Assistance

Hi there,

Long time since I posted here, well back to 2008/09 when I actually went bankrupt. Well I'm back due to wanting to clean up my credit file. At present I have two accounts that are not showing as satisfied or settled so I have used the template from here and will be putting those in the post tonight.

The assistance I need is the following:
I have 3 creditors on my credit file that either state Settled or Satisfied but with the dates as 14/8/11, 8/4/12 and 31/7/11 respectively though my bankruptcy date was 8/12/2008 and discharged on 8/12/2009.

Do I need to contact these 3 creditors and ask them to change the date to between my bankruptcy order date and discharge date too?

As long as the default date is on or before 8/12/2008, then it's not essential to get those corrected.

  • Thanks Fermi,

I checked and all the default dates are before my bankruptcy date so that is fine.

Last question is, I had a loan with Welcome Finance which I defaulted on before the 4th December 2012. They have stated the account as 'Settled' on 8/4/12. Do I need to contact them seeing as they are saying it's settled and not just satisfied?

I'm checking with Experian by the way.
