Claiming tax back

Hello all,

wasn't too sure where to put this hopefully it will be ok in this section.

I have been emergency taxed on some expenses I was paid the HMRC don't want to know because they aren't my employer but it's nearly £500 will this come back in the new tax year? or is their something else I need to do - the tax people don't want to know and their website isn't helpful either!

My other question is this tax year I haven't earnt enough to even qualify to pay tax, can I claim back the tax I paid in my job earlier in the year too? I am no longer employed by them.

Hopefully you will be able to help!

Thank you

Hannah
