I recently took an electric bike to a repairer who didnt seem to want to take it in (for whatever reason) and appeared ignorant to speak to.
I told him I was sure it was wired wrong and gave him the wiring diagram I had made up (which he didn't seem bothered about) and asked if he could check that.
While in the workshop I noticed his wiring diagram on the wall and spotted my brake levers were wired wrong already.
I got a call from him today saying he had checked the bike and it might be a switch or it might be the throttle which I had already told him I had changed, the wiring is connected at one point which is where I think it has been rewired wrongly and this was shrink tubed so I will easily be able to see if he has checked the wiring.
I suspect he hasn't but will see when I go to pick it up.
With his vague diagnosis and suspecting he has not checked the wiring/doesn't know how to test it properly I would not be happy to pay him.
My question is am entitled to collect it (can he keep it) if I refuse to pay him.
I am happy for him to take it further for his money as I am going to take it to a well known reputable repairer and will find out exactly what is wrong with it in the end.

If you had doubts about this person from the outset, why did you even leave it with him in the first place? Why didn't you just take it to the "well known reputable repairer"?0

If, and any decent tester would have. A multimeter. You do not need to strip down the wiring.....
So you have no real way of telling if he has done anything.
Is this a bike you have built up or a bought one?
As do not understand why you would make up a wiring diagram.
Given you sound like you have been messing with the wiring. I can understand why the guy may not want to take on something that is going to take a lot of sorting out. When he has no real idea on what you may have done.
Its all going to come down to how he can charge you a realistic price for his time.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
They are connected in one place from new but the wiring was unsleeved when I got it, so I remade the connections and tubed it but the throttle function didnt work, I made a diagram to try to figure out if it was wrong, as I already noticed from his diagram that it was partly wired wrong and he never said anything about it being wired wrongly I am wondering if he checked the wiring.0
