Anybody from Lincoln or surrounding areas?

Where did you or are you having your wedding reception?

Struggling to find something suitable in our price range

Ideally looking for pub/hotel with function room large enough for 100 people and band entertainment.

Not wanting a sit down meal, just a finger buffet as we are getting married later on in the day.

Had originally budgeted £1000 for the hire of room and food but i'm now thinking this may not be enough.

I'm grateful for any suggestions :)

  • Erm, Jocastas? But they will probably be expensive, nice surroundings though and they are setup for weddings.
  • Charlotte House looks nice. We looked at that when we thought we might be getting married in Lincoln. We now moved our venue to Wakefield (family reasons), so didn't go with them. They do packages starting from £500 (probably don't get much for that, tbh), but we were looking at their £1750 package

  • My daughter lives in Sleaford and we were looking for a barn type venue, Elm farm cottages in Boston was very reasonable? She is also looking at Abbey Farm weddings in Woodhall Spa. She isnt getting married until july 2014, so we havent made any bookings yet. She fancied a vintage type wedding, not at a hotel though! Good luck!
  • My friend got married at Tattershall castle and then had the reception at Abbey Lodge,Woodhall spa.

I myself got married in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

I actually got married in a pub & had the reception at the same place. The charge for my room hire was only £300 from 11am - 11pm. After the ceremony whilst guests had drinks and we had photos taken the room was changed round for the meal.

I had a buffet as the meal which was £21 per person and then I had tubs of ice cream at £3 per person to go with wedding cupcakes for afters.

I only had a small wedding, 22 guests. So 24 in total including myself and hubby. So £576 for food.

I'm sure the bigger room (which wasn't for wedding hire in 2011 when I got married) caters for 40 people, however you can add a marque onto it to increase numbers.
