Q4 GDP predicted to fall 0.5%

No, not here. Germany.

Which begs the question, are Osborne/Cameron really incompetent, or are economic conditions in Europe so bad that growth expectations are unrealistic right now?

The left who are slamming the coalition for flat GDP are very quick to overlook the European and global dimensions to the slump. Yet they are very quick also to claim that Labour's reckless abandonment of fiscal responsibility was all due to the global banking crash.

The UK's fared better than a number of European countries for some time. That was always the question when Labour said go for growth. Monetary contraction is a global issue not just the UK in isolation.

It looks like the US is coming out of its problems, Europe is just getting worse and worse. It'll be interesting to see which way the UK is dragged as the UK's economy has more in common with the US's than Germany's or Spain's however the EU is the UK's biggest trading partner.
