Smaller value daily mag wins

Does anybody else have problems receiving their prizes from the Daily mags?

Last Sept I won Letts Notletts Diary from Pick Me Up. I never received it despite chasing the required email adress with copies as specified on the original email after 28 days. I left a message on their Facebook page and also replied all to the original email asking about the prize (which you're not suposed to do). Not a peep out of anybody.

Last week I had a WEM from Look for 'the perfect blow dry' from Head Masters. This time I can't reply to the required email address as it bouces back with a 'Technical Error'. It's been doing this every day for 5 days now. I've tried both my email address in case it was gmail related but no joy. Again I put a note on the facebook page and did reply all to the original email. I have a feeling this prize will be a no show as well.

Neither were big values and there were multiple prizes so I really think that they just can't be bothered as they have hundreds of people to deal with.

I had the same email and it does say:

Your details have now been forwarded onto the sponsor for prize fulfilment with delivery to the address you supplied within 28 days.

So you will get your prize, it's just sending them a quote that the email asks you to do.

In the past they have used the email address ipcprizes@dmri.co.uk, don't know why it has suddenly changed.

Hi Moneypit, My DH also won this Letts Notletts Diary from Pick Me Up. I waited 28 days then emailed them and it arrived within the week. We were expecting and 2013 diary but it was in fact an academic year diary which started in July. However, it was a lovely diary when it came.

I find that sometimes things come almost immediately and others you do have to chase.

Sorry you have had this problem

It's nice to hear that some people got their diary Lomaxsylvia though it sounds like I didn't miss much as I too thought it would be a 2013 one.

Out of 90+ prizes won last year only 2 never ever received so as an average that can't be bad. I'll be doing well if I can match that this year.

  • The small daily mag wins I've won in the past have arrived but they took ages, longer than any other prizes I've won :)

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I have had a few wins from the mags all have taken ages and have sometimes had to chase them up, all were small but I did win a leather jacket last November and that came in a week.

Am currently chasing a Womans Own win from October 19th 2012, all emails bounce back, have been talking on Facebook to them since 30th November, was assured it would be here by end of last week but it never materialised. And once again my Facebook messages are being ignored, and looking at their wall are a number of people still waiting for prizes.
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Think I've had to chase 75% of my wins from the mags. Most of them are sent out from the PR companies though so guess it's not their fault although would be nice if they helped more when things don't arrive.
    2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

  • I had a similar problem towards the end of last year - I won a Parade's End book and DVD from What's on TV which failed to arrive within the 28 days.

When I sent a query email in return to the WEM, one of the addresses that had originally been CC'd in to the WEM bounced back - this was the address of the book publisher (it had been mis-spelled by the team at IPC when they typed it), and it was them who were meant to send the book out.

This meant that the book publisher never received their copy of the WEM with my winning details, and never knew I was a winner.

Fortunately, the team at IPC did a great job - they apologised profusely and then sent my prize by special delivery (and very pleased with it I am!)

I think this is why they specify that if you've had a problem with receiving a prize you need to CC your email to ALL the addresses that it was originally sent to - so that if part of the chain has broken, someone else has a chance to do something about it.
    Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie
