it's a discontinued model as far as I know so I think ebuyer are just dumping remaining stocks. As always with these sort of printers, the printer might be cheap to buy, it's the running costs that can make you wince

You might want to spend a bit more and get a higher spec cannon I got the 965i 4800x2400 photo printer also good for general use. I just refill the cartriges with a kits from euroinkjet and inks from selectafont. 18 months 1000s of pages 1000s of photos 100s of CDs, still got > 50% of the ink left in the bottles!
If you don't mind refurb they you can get a decent printer for not much money, note these are Canon refurb! As ever compare prices to new kit before you buy. If there is a morgan near you collect to save P&P

Not sure about bother ok but Canon is a lot better for photos etc. They seem to be simple to refil and cheap to run. Print quality better than Photos in blind tests. Epson are losing it but their duratirte inks are water resistant unlike Canons inks.
Get microfiltered inks as the Canons use 2pl droplets, normal will clog the head! I use selectafont, they have 50% off sale once in a while.Seth.0 -
