What ethical, organic, animal-free products do you use?

I'm curious to know of any products I maybe missing out on which are ethical, mostly organic and do not contain any animal ingredients.

BTW: I'm female :j

I already use;
  1. Ecover multisurface cleaner
  2. Ecover washing up liquid
  3. Ecover toilet cleaner
  4. Vinegar and bi carb of soda for cleaning too.
  5. Original Source shampoo
  6. Kiss-my-face roll-on deodrant
  7. I use cotton dishclothes rather then sponges to avoid waste
  8. LUSH soap

The products I need to consider getting are sunscreen and aftersun so any recommendations would be great. :o

I love Green People - I've been using their products for about 6 months now. I used to use Origins skincare products, but wanted to find a less commercial (and let's face it, a cheaper) alternative.

If you buy from the greenpeople website, you'll get money off your next order automatically.

I'm currently using their day solution moisturisor (SPF15), vitamin fix cream, fruitful nights cream and their SPF22 suncream and peppermint mouth wash (the first one I've tried that doesn't "burn" my mouth). I have to say, my skin is looking and feeling pretty amazing.

Thanks sleepymy - I knew of the 5year rolling thingy with Ecover but trust the vegan society to keep on top of them too. Ecover is one of the few products which the vegan society approve!!

No problem momisa, I stopped using them because of the rolling rule, I never was keen on the smell of the toilet cleaner. I'm using co-op atm but they're not very environmentally friendly.

A friend has recommended Sonett bleach which can be used as a clothes brightener, stain remover and to clean the loo with. I'll have to see if I can get any in Belfast, if not I'll be trying to track it down on my trip to England next week.

I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm out and about round NI
  • As well as the rolling five year situation group4/securicor were the majority shareholders in ecover. After that J. Philip-Sørense bought out all of group 4's shares in ecover, but he was still the chairman of securicor as well as the MD of ecover. He finally quit as chairman of group4 last year. group 4 are responsible for many private prisons and ill treatment of migrants.

About as ethical as pepsico really.

group4 securitas - corporate and environmental criminals.

With there being local (to the UK) alternatives being available I see little point in supporting such a business.
