Don't envy you this task Martin.

Compared to my charitable giving, this is an enormous sum, but you have the same issues ensuring that it doesn't get swallowed up by inefficient charities where very little gets to the front line.

Part of the power of this donation is shining a spotlight on where government funding has been withdrawn and issues close to your heart such as financial education and mental health which you have done very well in your blog.

I wonder whether there is a third 'cause' which is research and using influence to try and get financial weapons of mass distruction such as PPI, 2nd charge loans and payday lending banned much faster than is currently the case to prevent socially destructive financial activity.

I am a firm believer in better financial education and better advice and support for those in financial difficultly - but I also firmly believe that better regulation will prevent a lot of the damage occuring, with very little economic damage from reducing access to 'easy credit' for those who cannot afford it.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Thanks for the update. Good choices IMO.

If you do ever want thoughts on possible things to do please do ask. For now I think it maybe counter-productive to offer any. You don't need any more pressure, I suspect. :)
