How to find out who the administrators are

Hi there,
Not sure if this is the right forum as i am coming from the other side to most.

Short story is that we have just found out that a trader who did work for us is insolvent (and was before they started the job). They are asking for payment directly, but obviously we should not be paying them but their administrators/creditors.

Can anyone advise how to find out who their administrators are and our next steps? Or if this is the wrong forum, whcih would be better?

Cheers

Are you saying they are BR? If they are, and are still not discharged you should be able to get their details on the IS website.

If they are on there, then the details of the OR`s office who are dealing with them will be there also.

I don't understand why you cannot pay them directly, or are you claiming that they are working on the side and will not declare their earnings.
In that case obviously you are not paying vat on the work done either.
Someone who is br is allowed to run a business so I do not understand your concern.
  • Thanks for the replies and sorry for the lack of clarity, this is all a bit new to me. They are indeed a ltd company, and we have just been made aware that they had a final "winding up order" late last year.

The work was commissioned under the insolvent companies name and we were also invoiced this week under the same compant name

    Thanks
