Hi All,
Am looking to make the seating chart myself...
I would like to know what size would be best to use? We are having ten tables.
What sort off card would i be looking at getting so that it is sturdy? Does anyone have any recommended links of where is best to purchase things from?
Also is pritt stick good enough of do i need a special spray?
Advice much appreciated

I am using one of those canvas effect blank pictures, you get them in craft shops etc. I got mine in Lidl a while ago.
Another idea is to use a mirror.
Maybe try printing the names for one table onto a piece of paper and see how much space you need for 10 of them.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
I would also love to know the answers to all these questions.
I was thinking about buying a photo frame and putting the table plan inside it, then using the frame after the wedding to put a selection of photos inside.0 -
I used a mirror from Dunelm mills, wrote the names on in white chalk pen and its now hanging over my fireplace!
I have also seen large picture frames used, small frames arranged on a table, and mirrors with decorated cards stuck on with blue tack. All looked great.
You can get card from Hobbycraft, Dunelm mills or from art shops. Not that pricey really. I would use spray glue (spray mount is best) as it can be repositioned if you need and pritt stick may make thin card/paper 'buckle' up.0 -
im planning on doing my own, i think im just going to get a huge bit of decent card and stick them on - i havent really planned it as yet as you can tell lol. My hubby to be is making me an easel tho for it to stand on. I shall update you if i figure anything out, but i was thinking of getting a spray type glue x0

Ask at your venue if they have an easel you can borrow. That will give you some idea of size. I love the mirror and blank canvas ideas.0

I printed some 6x9 photographs of special places for us. I used photoshop to add in the name of the place, and made two versions - one without names as the table sign, and the other which had a list of people sitting on that table, to be placed on the easel provided by the venue as the table plan. I used an instagram style effect to make the photos them look more consistent and was very pleased with the effect. BOnusprint currently have £5 off any spend, no minumum order for new customers, so I got 18 6x9 prints, so all my table names and plan for £5 delivered. Chuffed :j0

Wow thats such a good idea!! were having my daughter pick our table names after her favourite films so i going to get copies of the DVD covers for our tables, maybe i could incorporate something into the plan? ***off to google it*** lol x0

We are having a similar idea to thebestisyettocome, in that we have printed large versions of my H2Bs fabulous mountain pictures (ones that mean something to both of us) and I have ordered some frameless menu holders to go on the tables. Each table is named after a lake district mountain and our table plan will be going onto a large canvas picture we are ordering through Boots with a piece of ribbon matching our theme pinned on and the seating plan for each table clipped on with some cheap heart pegs I found on ebay. We have spent more time choosing the big canvas than practically anything else for the venue as we wanted something we can hang at home afterwards!0

I am thinking about 2ft x 3ft maybe bigger, not wanting a back log of people getting their glasses out to find their name!
We are hoping to get a piece of wood and paint it with blackboard paint and use chalk pens to write on it.
The table number will be smaller versions with driftwood borders and maybe the menu written on the back?!0 -
Hello.. not sure if it's cheap or not but I noticed Hobbycraft had table plan kits in there when I was in last week. Even if you didn't buy theirs you could go and check them out to give you an idea of what you'd need...CC1 £7,944.10
CC2 £2,680.03
CC3 £1,020.880
