Hello,
I get married on the 26th May this year!! (whoohoo) and I really wanted to wear my mums long veil with my dress but it just does't match.
I have been back to the shop where I have bought my dress to look for a long veil but they only have shoulder ones and to me seem stupidly expensive!
Has any one got any reccomendations for buying online? I keep looking through ebay for 2nd hand ones but not having much luck I would like a two level ivory chapel or cathedral length veil with lace edging.
Is it ok to buy online or do you need to try them on first? Does one size fit all sorry for the stupid questions!
Thanks in advance

I searched eBay and bought a single tier ivory finger tip length with lace edging for £14. Came from china. The quality is fine and at that price you can't complain.
Much cheaper then buying in a bridal shop.0 -
I had a very similar thing - wanted to wear my mum's but my dress ended up being ivory and her veil was white.
I bought a fingertip length veil off eBay for £17 and it is perfect. It's not second hand - it is handmade, obviously someone's business is making veils and selling them on eBay. Annoyingly I can't find who the seller was as I can only seem to see stuff I bought in the last 60 days and it was longer than that....sorry
As for the size thing, no, I think it is pretty much one size fits allso you should be fine buying online.

Could you incorporate your mums veil in another way if it was something you reallly wanted? Maybe in the flowers, make a garter from it or use parts of it in your new veil?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

I got my veil off ebay from pinkmargaret2005. She is a professional dressmaker and is completely lovely. She is able to advise on style to suit your dress and can send samples so you can match the colour. Highly recommended by lots and lots of brides on other forums!
She may be able to help you perhaps incorporate your mums veil into a new one if you email her.

Alternatively I think the idea of using it around your bouquet is lovely.0 -
daisie you might be able to sell who your ebay seller was by looking at feedback you've received or have left for other people. That's usually how I find sellers that I've forgotten about.
I'm also looking for an ivory veil but I'm so confused by them... What is the difference between the different materials? I'm assuming silk is the best type but why? Is the feel different or the look of it close up? I'm wanting something really really sheer looking, would silk be best for this?Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

I bought my wedding dress from 1dress.co.uk. They send a matching veil as a gift to compensate the delay on my order. I like it very much. Now, they have a good collections of wedding accessories at very reasonable price, you may have a look!0
